Spring 2021: Boise, Meridian, Nampa, Pocatello, and Idaho Falls

Welcome to Friday Night Flag, the ultimate Youth Flag Football experience played Under the Lights on Friday Nights!tm  Friday Night Flag is an NFL Flag affiliated league, tailored to the competitive player who wants to continue to develop their football skills during the off season. Friday Night Flag is available for all Boys and Girls, grades K through 8.   Our league is played 5 vs 5 (8-10 on a team), with an emphasis on team play and sportsmanship.  Through the design of the league, it is quick play and high tempo which makes for exciting games for both the players and the parents.  We play 5 regular season games with playoffs on the final two Fridays of the season.  Each team should play 6 games (unless games cancelled due to weather; there are no make-up games when cancelled).

Playing Friday Night Flag, your child will develop character, quick football speed and skill sets that include:

  • Catching
  • Running
  • Pass Coverage
  • Run Defense
  • Responding to a fast game tempo

Because we are affiliated with NFL Flag, your child will receive an official NFL Flag reversible jersey.  The jersey is yours to keep after the season is completed. It will represent your team which will be named for one of the 32 NFL teams.  Each player will also receive a pair of Friday Night Flag playing shorts, NFL Flag Belt, and an end of season participation prize.

  • All teams are required to have a Team Sponsor for their team.  This is required in order for teams to receive their NFL jerseys and shorts provided by the league. Team sponsorships will be due at time of Jersey pick up.

Friday Night Flag is a family-friendly league.  Your child will practice once per week (1.5 hours maximum) and will get equal playing time regardless of skill level. Friday Night Flag has created an event atmosphere where families can enjoy watching their child play Flag Football, enjoy great food from various weekly food vendors and build friendships with parents of other players.  While Friday Night Flag is a competitive league, we encourage courteous parents and fans.

Friday Night Flag COVID-19  Operational Plan

Friday Night Flag has developed the following operational plan to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our community.  The following steps will be taken.

Establish protocols to maintain the six (6) foot physical distance.

We will be using fields at Jabil and Expo Idaho. In the past we have used 9 fields at Jabil and 11 fields at Expo, but in order to social distance we will be doing games on both Thursday and Friday versus just Friday Night. This will allow us to use four fields at Jabil and five fields at Expo.

  • Spectators will be limited to 1 or 2 per family.  Each family will social distance (6) along the sidelines. Masks will be required for all coaches and spectators. This will keep us well below the maximum of fifty.
  • Physical distancing will be encouraged amongst players while receiving coaching.
  • Instruction to youth and adult leaders to avoid physical contact with one another, e.g. hugs, high-fives, etc. will be made prior to each game by referees.
  • Scrimmages will be spaced out with 200 feet between playing fields.
    • Jabil will have four fields.  This park has parking lots all around the park.  We will have families park near their designated playing field so they come and go only in that area.
  • Scrimmage start times will be increase from 20 minutes, to 35 minutes allowing more time to come and go without gathering.
  • Spectators will be asked to leave immediately after scrimmage.

Establish protocols to reduce the risk of spread of COVID-19 among adult leaders, youth, and their families.

  • Monitor athletes and coaches/staff for signs and symptoms of COVID- require ill person to stay home for games and practices.
  • Wearing of masks by spectators will be required and a sign posted at the gate entrance.
  • Footballs and player’s hands will be sanitized at the beginning of each game and at half time.
  • Sharing of water bottles will be discouraged.
  • Mouth Guards will be discouraged and optional
  • Hand sanitizer will be placed at the entrance to field, to be used by any spectators and players coming and going.

Identify strategies for working with public health to notify adult leaders, youth and their families if the organization learns a participant or adult leader has developed COVID-19 and may have been infectious to others while at a youth activity

  • In the event a player or staff member has COVID-19, scrimmages and practices will be postponed or canceled.  FNF will seek guidance from CDH on how to proceed and when practices and scrimmages can resume.
  • Confidentiality of the COVID-19 infected person will be kept

Friday Night Flag REFUND POLICY:
